GG 94 3/355 1 folder, 9 pages. Pages are out of order. Manuscript documents. Minute and correspondence re the suggested international arbitration between Great Britain and the U.S.A. re the case of Mr. Brown who obtained a final judgment of the late High Court of the Republic of South Africa declaring him to be entitled to licences for certain gold mining claims in the Transvaal, or in the alternative to damages. Mr. Brown claimed that the licences, in a form which carried a right to renewal, was wrongfully denied by the Republican officials and that the High Court unlawfully and corruptly refused to assist in enforcing the judgment. |
